Our Commitment
Habibian Law PLLC is committed to providing equal access to its website and digital services for all users, including individuals with disabilities. We seek to ensure that our online content is accessible and usable so that all visitors can perceive, navigate, interact with, and contribute to our website.
Compliance Standards
Our accessibility efforts are guided by the following standards and legal requirements:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. Published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the internationally recognized standard for digital accessibility and the benchmark most frequently referenced by courts and regulators. We target Level AA conformance, which addresses accessibility for users with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III. Title III of the ADA requires that places of public accommodation, including professional services offered through websites, provide equal access to individuals with disabilities.
- New York State and City Accessibility Requirements. We are mindful of applicable New York accessibility requirements, including the New York State Human Rights Law and the New York City Human Rights Law, both of which provide broad protections against discrimination on the basis of disability.
Conformance Status
Our website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some portions of the website may not yet fully conform to all applicable accessibility criteria. Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we are actively working to identify and resolve any gaps in conformance. We do not represent or warrant that our website will meet every standard or guideline at all times, as these guidelines are regularly updated and evolving.
Ongoing Efforts
We periodically review our website to identify and address potential accessibility barriers. Our efforts include the following:
- Design and Development. We implement recognized accessibility best practices in website design and development, including the use of semantic HTML and structured navigation, appropriate heading hierarchy, and meaningful link text.
- Visual Accessibility. We seek to provide alternative text for meaningful images, ensure appropriate color contrast ratios, use readable typography, and avoid conveying information solely through color.
- Keyboard and Assistive Technology Compatibility. We endeavor to make all website functionality available via keyboard navigation and to ensure compatibility with common assistive technologies, including screen readers.
- Testing and Remediation. We test website functionality using automated accessibility tools and periodic manual review, and we remediate identified accessibility issues within a reasonable timeframe.
Because accessibility standards evolve and technologies change, portions of the website may require ongoing updates to maintain alignment with current guidelines.
Document Accessibility
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that documents published on our website, including PDFs and other electronic files, are accessible. Where a document cannot be made fully accessible due to its format or source, we will provide the information in an alternative accessible format upon request.
Limitations and Third-Party Content
Certain content, applications, or plug-ins on our website may be provided by third parties not controlled by Habibian Law PLLC. While we encourage vendors and service providers to offer accessible content, we cannot ensure or guarantee the accessibility of third-party materials.
Additionally, archived content, legacy documents, or materials posted prior to the adoption of current accessibility standards may not fully conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines. We prioritize remediation of current and frequently accessed content and will address archived materials as resources permit.
